Daniel Olivares Zambrano

I was born in LA and spent some of my life there, but I was raised mostly in Rialto Ca. I currently go to college at California State University Monterey Bay, and I major in Biology: Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal (EEO) and minor in Education. I am part of the SMART Program this summer at CU Boulder, and I am doing a project in disease ecology in the Johnson Lab under the guidance of Dana Calhoun and Pieter Johnson. I am interested in biology as a whole, but I am particularly interested in ecology, evolution, and animal physiology. The ways animals function as an individual system, and interact and adapt within their communities is interesting to me. I am also interested in educating and mentoring future generations of underrepresented students in stem apart from my interests in research. On my free time I enjoy playing and watching soccer, exercising, traveling, music, food, among so many other things.
